10 Best Common and Rare Cards

  1. – This is an extremely deadly card. It has a lifetime of 70 seconds, which allows it to produce 7 within its lifetime, which means that you will profit by 2 in the long run. Which is awesome and helps with late game rush attacks that are just so highly effective during double time. Although not always utilized as a defense, the also has great defensive potential with its very high HP when placed at the center. I actually think that the may be the best card in the game.
I still see many of the top players make mistakes when placing their . Now here’s a rule of thumb for the . Since it produces about 7.14 in its lifetime, then that means that if the took more than 30% damage, then you’re not going to profit from it. One big mistake I see people make all the time is that they use their to just weaken the . Guys, that is how you lose. The costs 4 , while the costs 5. Your is only going to do around 40% damage, while the will still be able to produce . So you’re basically just giving your opponent a bigger lead. Now I’m going to tell you guys a secret. Well it’s really not a secret, it’s just that people just don’t know about this trick. The best defense against defense is the . Now that probably sounds confusing, so allow me to explain. Imagine your opponent places a and you place . The has a 40 second life time. So say that in those 40 seconds, you you don’t touch the once. This means that your opponent spent 4 using the , but gained nothing out of it. While you spent 5 from the Collector, and in 70 seconds will earn 7 . Meaning, theoretically, in total, you’ve earned a 6 lead! (2 profit from placing Collector + 4 wasted by opponent).
  2. – have always been among the most popularly used in the game and in all levels of play. This is a very high value card as it only costs 3 and can almost always provide you with an by using it properly. It has a very large radius, allowing you to deal damage to multiple troops at once. Imagine using the Arrow card on a and Spear , that will instantly give you a 4 profit. So it’s no surprise that the Arrow card is among one of the most popular in the game.
  3. – The card had always been a popular card and a very good card as well. For the price of just 5 , you’re able to summon 4 powerful . To demonstrate their power together, one level 8 Barbarian has 579 HP and 96 DPS. So 4 of them together is a total of 2316 HP and 384 DPS, no other card in the game gives you this much value. Now what makes is not that offensive potential, but how good of a defense they are. They are able to defeat some of the most powerful offensive combinations in the game, which includes the , , Pekka, Goblem, , and so on. So again it’s really not a surprise why you see so commonly used on all the time.
  4. – The is undoubtedly the best offensive card in the game. He has very decent HP, he’s very fast, powerful, and can go straight for your Arena Tower. Making him a very annoying card to stop when you don’t have multiple buildings. Not only that, the most frightening aspect of the , in my opinion, is that he only costs 4 ! So he can have a detrimental effect in a game when you’ve taken a small lead.
  5. Spear – Spear are among the cheapest in the game and come with a high return value. It can be the first card you play without spending so much to scout your opponent. Three Spear together also make for a strong air-targeting combo behind a tank such as a or . They are an excellent way to make profit with . By simply using them on defense with your Arena Tower, you can make a big profit in . For example, say your opponent sends in a Mini Pekka, you can simply use your Spear to deal damage and distract and along with your Arena Tower also helping out on defense, you can quickly kill the Mini Pekka and take a 2 lead. Or you can even allow your opponent’s to target your Arena Tower, but place your Spear on the side to quickly kill the . This way, you lose a few HP on your Arena Tower, but you obtain a 2 profit and still have all your Spear at full health. So yea, this is a card made for winning.
  6. – are also among one of the best in the game because of how cheap they are, only 2 ! While they do insane damage together. For example, three level 8 together do 261 damage per second, which makes them an excellent defense. With just a 2 cost, you can quickly obtain a big profit. You will very commonly see and Spear used among the best players in the game.
  7.   – It’s quite a travesty that many players are unaware of one of the deadliest in the game. Yes, the 1 card. Many new players would poke fun at it, without realizing what this card can do. While the experienced and truly skilled players understand the incredible power of this card and how it can equate to winning. This card is made for winners. It is very similar to the 2 card, but costs only 1 . To demonstrate its power, I’ll use the again for comparison. I told you guys that 3 level 8 do 261 Damage Per Second together. However, the 1 card summons 4 , and 4 level 8 together do an amazing 228 Damage Per Second. Currently, the 2 Goblin card surpasses the 1 in usage, but with time you guys will see how the 1 Skeleton surpasses the . Another underrated aspect of the is that due to their 1 cost, you can use them during double time to quickly cycle through your without spending too much .
  8. – Like the , the is another monstrous card on both defense and offense. It is a very commonly use card because of just how many powerful that it quickly counter. The is definitely one of the best defense in the game. However, unlike , the can be one-shotted by . But it’s fast card and often can counter a big threat before your opponent can even play the Arrow card.
  9. Zap Spell – So few people know about the secret of the Zap Spell. Before the Zap Spell received the ability to stun your opponent’s troops and buildings for 1 second it was a mystery as to what the purpose of this spell was when the card far outweighed it. However, people undervalued the difference between 1 . Even though the Zap Spell was unable to one shot many threats such as the , skilled players understood its true value. It was still able to weaken the , allowing your Arena Tower to finish off all the quickly obtaining you a 3 profit. Now with the 1 second stun effect, this card has such a great value for only 2 . Combine it with the and you have one of the cheapest and deadliest offensive combos in the game, + Zap.
  10. – In my previous best and worst list, I had listed as one of the worst in the game. Well I would like to formally apologize to her because of the many recent buffs, she has turned into one of the best in the game, while only costing 4 . She is much more bulkier and powerful now. Although not a ranged attacker like the , she can instead act as a meatshield for your other ranged attackers with her very decent HP. While this also allows her to “glue” herself to other melee troops such as a Pekka, disallowing the defender of distracting your P.E.K.K.A . She is a distraction-killer. The main difference between between the and is that the is unable to target air troops, especially the . But, she’s still cheaper than the and has more than twice the HP of a . Just make sure to have other ways of defending against the , such as and .

Now if you guys are wondering what the best Epic are to get and work on, then I’m going to give you guys my top 5.

5 Best Epic Cards

  1. Spell – The Spell was undoubtedly the best Epic card when the game was first released in its soft launch state. It used to have an incredible 4 tile radius and even lasted a lot longer at higher levels. After a few weeks it was nerfed to a 3 tile radius, so many players had decided that the radius was too small so they stopped using the card, so its usage fell off heavily. However, with many of the recent changes, especially the all the nerfs to defensive buildings, this gave way to a more offensive-dominant metagame, bringing back the Spell to its former glory. Today, the Spell is used alongside some of the deadliest combos in the game with , , Double , P.E.K.K.A, and so on.
  2. P.E.K.K.A – The P.E.K.K.A’s usage skyrocketed ever since her cost reduction to 7 and the advent of 3 new incredibly powerful troops, the , , and . How does this affect the P.E.K.K.A? All of these troops have one thing in common, they all deal area damage and the P.E.K.K.Ais weak to hordes of low HP troops. Thus, it became ideal to surround these troops with the P.E.K.K.A, a behemoth with incredibly high HP and power.
  3. – The would be my pick as the most versatile and useful Epic card in the game. Definitely not the most powerful card, but it can fit in almost any deck. It’s bulky, so you can use your ranged attackers behind it. It does splash damage and can target both ground and air troops, which is very important for defeating hordes and hut spammers. The other two troops that can do splash damage and target air are the and , but what makes the a more appealing option is that it costs only 4 while the and cost 5. And the is much bulkier, and not weak to .
  4. – Like his brother, the is also one of the best offensive in the game. The is weak to hordes of low HP troops, but the isn’t, he can deal splash damage and kill them all at once. However, he isn’t as powerful as the , but his ability to deal splash damage is very important. His bulkiness also makes him a very versatile card for defense. Not to mention, he only costs 4 , which is 1 less than his brother.
  5. – The is definitely one of the best in the game. Unfortunately, the is also one of the most expensive , costing 8 to use. But that’s warranted because of his very high HP, death damage, and ability to generate Golemites after his death. All this just makes him one of the best Epics.

So those are my top 5 Epic . Now lastly, I’m going to tell you guys the 5 worst in the game, that you should probably ignore.

The Worst Cards, to Ignore

  1. – The is one of the worst in the game. He costs 6 and is super slow and super weak. It’s awesome that he’s a ranged attacker, but that goes against his very decent HP. You can’t use your other ranged attackers behind him because the is going to want to stay behind all your troops. Not only that, he targets buildings, which is great but the problem is his DPS is just too low.
  2. – The Spell is an awesome spell in Clash of . However, in Clash Royale, the problem with the Spell is, it doesn’t power up your troops, it only gives them speed. So they should probably rename this card to Haste Spell, because that’s what it is. This card just isn’t a good spell even with slow troops such as the Pekka, , and . And that’s because all of those troops are still very easy to distract. And the Spell only gives a 35% speed boost, which in my opinion, is not enough.
  3. – The is one of the most powerful in the game, but at the same time it’s one of the worst in the game. And the reason for that is, it costs 10 to use. So basically you’re going to have to spend your whole on summoning . And all you have to do to counter them is simply throw one , which costs 4 . It’s just not worth 10 to summon 3 Musketeers.
  4. – The is a good defense, but is just a horrible offense and is also one-shotted by and the Zap Spell. It’s outclassed by the and . It gets one-shotted by every splash attacker. And with the assistance of your Arena Tower on defense, it’s just super easy to quickly stop a . So yea, really not a card I’d invest my money on.
